Scenic Design by Jacob Brown
Professional Information
Theatre has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent my summers and winters working with a community theatre. In high school, I participated in a two-year Career Education Technical Theatre block class where I became proficient in a wide variety of power and hand tools, assisted in the design and set build for six shows/concerts each year, and rotated between roles as Student Technical Director, Props Master and Scenic Charge. I have since gained experience as a Props Artisan with a local community theatre, Tantrum Theatre, the Central City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, a short film, and Virtual Reality Series. I also work in producing Sensory-Friendly Theater and performance environments, debuting Ohio University’s first Sensory-Friendly show in November of 2021.
I have a BFA in Production Design and Technology at Ohio University with an emphasis on Props Technology. Currently, I am obtaining my MA in Theater with an emphasis in Crafts Technology. I'm so excited to continue exploring my passion for this art throughout my career.
